Scorpion vs Sub-Zero: The 27 Year Fight
Client - Alienware
Watch on Youtube, Facebook or Twitter.
A complex edit that compares every Mortal Kombat fighting game, this is my favourite video to have worked on to date.
Pitting the two most well known characters against each other, they fight seamlessly through the oldest (1992) MK game right up until the most recent (2019). I achieved this look through smart transitions and careful editing.
I captured the gameplay for each of the games, which was easy for some of the later ones, but was much harder for others like MK4. This was a windows 95 version that I managed to get running and capture on a Mac. Once everything was working, it was just the task choreographing the fight, so it flowed through all the games. It was important to me as a fan that it touched on many of the unique mechanics that each game introduced, which helped showcase the evolution of the series.
It gathered over a million views on Facebook and just under 500,000 on Twitter, but I was more happy to see Ed Boon the creator and director of the entire MK series retweet the video.
Journey to the Savage Planet: Looting Challenge
Client - 505 Games
Shooting and editing a timed Lets Play looting challenge. Cutting between the studio and two gameplay feeds to create fun and intense competition.
The game didn’t have a competitive mode built in, so the two hosts were playing a cooperative mode. The competition element had to be acheived through editing and highlighting the hosts chemistry. Part of the way I achieved this was through the music, faster paced editing and an on screen timer.
Using the same capture a more social friendly video was created.
The Witcher - The Golden Ones (Music Video)
Client - Netflix
The Golden Ones is a song sung by Jaskier, one of the characters from the The Witcher TV Show. I created a music video using the episode with the events he’s referencing. Other than getting creative with editing the video, I also made the motion graphics for the flaming karaoke style lyrics.
Versions were also created in 1:1 and 9:16 for other social platforms.
How Control and Alan Wake Are Linked
Client: Remedy Entertainment
Control and Alan Wake are psychological action thriller games with compelling effects, visuals and cinematography that I got to play around with during editing.
The point of the video was to display the clues hidden in both games that showcase how their universes are connected. This was a good reason to focus more on cutscenes and displaying the tone and story. The music I chose was to get across the horror and mystery vibe, but stepping in to action when needed.
This was created during lockdown, so it took a lot of communication to arrange capture of gameplay and voice over, all from our homes.

IGN’s Scariest Horror Films of the Last Decade
Client - Bandai Namco Entertainment
It was always going to be controversial making a list of the top horror movies of the decade, but I was really excited to work on it. Working with horror and thriller movies allowed me to create a pace unique to those genres and build suspension before the horrifying action. I spent a lot of time picking and editing unique music to match each of the movies particular sense of terror.
The entire video was created entirely from trailers, which comes with it’s own set of challenges. Working around previously cut clips and music to create some unique in itself.

Mario & Sonic: Can You Beat Our High Scores?
Client - Nintendo
Shooting and editing a Let’s Play competition, where three presenters compete against each other for the highest score. Custom scoreboards and picture in picture frames were created.
While many of these games could be played in split screen, I choose to recored the first two with the hosts playing separately and editing them together myself. This gave me a lot more control overall to create the pace and enhance the humour, but it also helped me find and showcase the story. The last event was played split screen with all three hosts together. This was a great way to end to the video and enhanced the competitiveness as they were able to banter with each other while all trying to win.

On Set Secrets with The Witcher Season 2 Cast
Client - Netflix
The interview footage for this video was filmed early into the covid lockdown, so sadly the footage captured wasn’t the best. Low quality interviews with audio stutter and syncing issues throughout. Despite that I spent a lot of time making the best video I could and I’m happy with the result. I also illustrated and animated the graphics for the title card and question cards.
The Zombies of Army of the Dead
Client - Netflix
A promotion video to coincide with the release of Army of the Dead. We partnered with Netflix to view an early screening of the movie for research and footage finding purposes. We created a video showcasing the different types of zombies you’ll find throughout the movie.
This was a fun project as I had pretty much the entire movie to play with, only avoiding major spoilers. I also had good fun choosing and implementing the music to match the movies unique tone.
6 Things to Know About Marvels Midnight Suns
Client - Marvel/Disney
A simple video going over six things players could expect from Marvels Midnight Suns before it was released.
The Best Horror Games on PS Now
Client: Playstation
PS Now is still a game service in it’s early stages and this video is a part of series which shows the different games available. This particular video focuses on the range of Horror games available.
“The PS Now library has a wide spectrum of horror titles, from eerie psychological thrillers to visceral zombie action. If you're looking for a good old scare, here's every horror game on PS Now rated 9 and above.”
World of Warcraft - Wrath of the Lich King Retrospective
Client - Activision Blizzard
With the rerelease of Wow - Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Activision Blizzard wanted to celebrate by bringing together creators to talk about their favourite moments from the original release and how it impacted them.
I edited the entire video and created all the motion graphics for the lower thirds, title and end cards. I also produced social versions in 9:16 and 1:1.
IGN’s Favourite Resident Evil Moments
Client - Capcom
IGN editors from around the world talk about their favourite Resident Evil moments from the series. Editing together talking heads interspersed with gameplay footage and custom graphics.
The talking heads were shot in three different locations around, in different studio environments. I put time into matching the audio and visuals to make sure they didn’t standout and distract from the video.
